OAMC once a month cooking real-food style
Here's my list:
- Sourdough starter- now under one last feeding- to be made into bread, pancakes and doughnuts (yum!)
- Soaked beans will be cooked and frozen for future meals.
- Have started nuts soaking for crispy nuts for cookies.
- Decided to add wheat for sprouting- running low and I have some birthday-cake baking coming up.
- Haven't pickled in awhile, so also added this- I'll be trying spicy carrots.
That's pretty much it, check back later for an update. I think planning and cooking ahead is so important, especially when cooking traditional real-food style. On that note, please make sure to come back on Friday for a post on my response to
this article by CNN on Nourished Kitchen's real food challenge. She
posted on the end of the challenge and the artcle here, but after reading the comments on the article I feel compelled to respond, if only for my own sanity. The amount of misinformation is both frightening and fascinating- imagine people getting all worked up about this- which I welcome, as the alternative is apathy. As they say, maybe any press
is good press- if it makes people think about their food.
I am happy to share this at
